The exhibition planned at Schloss Hollenegg for May 2024 will focus on the forest and its primary resource: wood. We will discuss trees, forests and resources, building on the extensive knowledge available on the subject at Schloss Hollenegg.

In Austria we are in a privileged situation: our wood land resources are managed in progressive and scientific ways, and wood as a resource is prized and commonly used. There is extensive know-how both in forest management and in wood processing with a high number of skilled carpenters and craftsmen. Through the exhibition we want to bring this is knowledge to attention and share it more widely.

The aim of the exhibition is to show the diversity in wood species and the different working methods with which wood can be worked and transformed. Each objects presented is also an excuse to discuss sustainability and the use of resources and to tell stories about this material that has strong implications for our environment.
