Where

During Design Month Graz, the »GrazGuides« lead visitors through the »UNESCO City of Design« on specially curated design tours featuring selected »Design in the City« stops – insider tips included. Participation is free of charge, but registration is requested.

The meeting point for the tour, which begins on 23 May 2025 at 16.00, is Tummelplatz in the centre of Graz. The following stops are on the itinerary:

Chic Ethic

Exploitation of women and unethical practices are still widespread in the textile industry. »Global Mamas« from Ghana puts women’s empowerment and environmental protection at the centre. Their colourful fashion can be discovered at Hélène and Andreas Reiter-Viollet’s.

MuR-Design Store Graz

with Elisabeth Steinwidder from soulseil

With »soulseil«, designer Elisabeth Steinwidder combines her passions for climbing, design and craftsmanship. In Doris Meschnigg’s »MuR« Design Store, she presents upcycled camera straps made from the cores (“souls”) of discarded climbing ropes during Design Month.

Number One Fashion

with Benny Teubl from bteubl clothing

Featuring pieces from leading fashion capitals, Number One Fashion brings an international flair to Graz. Designer Benjamin Teubl adds a local touch: his reversible jacket skillfully blends design and functionality and is produced in a social enterprise in Weiz.

Offline Retail

with Florian Blamberger

Timber strips from carpentry offcuts, two boards and tensioning straps – that’s all it takes to create the versatile “MAKI” stool (which also doubles as a bench or standing table) by Florian Blamberger. A fitting exhibit at Offline Retail, where the motto is “upcycling at its finest”.
