Strong Fashion from Strong Women – Global Mamas from Ghana

Since 2004, the fair fashion project »Global Mamas« has stood for lasting change. What began with six founders is now an organisation of over 400 producers committed to GOTS-certified organic cotton, fair wages, and regulated working conditions. Their clothing stands out for its vibrant colours, creative patterns, and feminine style – but above all, for its values: female empowerment, environmental protection, and a self-determined life are at the heart of every seam. Each garment tells a story – and makes visible the people behind it.

Chic Ethic: Fair Trade with a Stance – in the Heart of Graz

At the »Chic Ethic – Fair Trade Shop« on Tummelplatz, Hélène and Andreas Reiter-Viollet curate high-quality fair trade products with great idealism. The colourful pieces by the »Global Mamas« are a central part of their collection – showing that fashion can be not only beautiful, but also just. »Design in the City« offers a glimpse into a collection that not only looks good, but does good – for women in Ghana and fashion-conscious shoppers in Graz.
