Utopias are characterized by the unrealizable, the fantastic. But this is precisely where their great power lies, because these visions of the future make revolutionary developments possible in the first place. For this reason, the Green Tech Valley Cluster, Creative Industries Styria, Holzcluster Steiermark, Graz University of Technology, Montanuniversität Leoben, Karl-Franzens-Universität and the Institute of Design and Communication at FH JOANNEUM have joined forces. Eight interdisciplinary student teams produced green utopias as short videos that visualize a possible future of the energy, mobility and raw materials transition based on current research at the location. Utopias grow into technologies here. Green Utopia helps to visualize and discuss the future that lies ahead of us. The utopias will be presented on May 23 at the Green Utopia Symposium at the Hornig Areal festival center.
