Where

Found. In the context of the interim use of the former Hornig area in Graz, students at the Graz University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture at the Institute of Architecture and Media, in cooperation with the Institute of Space and Design, are dealing with the topic of vacancy and its special features. A large hall in the vacant building is available for the students to work in. They follow the traces of what they find and what is already there. The focus is on working with the existing buildings, i.e. the objects that are already there. The potential and possibilities of the architecture are explored on a 1:1 scale and existing spaces are placed in a new context at short notice by means of minimal interventions. The medium of light with analog light sources, digital projection, material and space is available to them as a tool.

The students are supervised by the Graz-based multi-media collective OchoReSotto, Birgit Schulz and Alex Krug, LightLab Institute for Space and Design and Adam Sebestyen, Institute for Architecture and Media.
